JOB SUMMARY:

The primary role is to locate, recruit, prepare and maintain a list of eligible program participants for eventual housing placement within AIDS Services of Dallas (ASD). The Outreach Housing and Service Recruiter will fill in as needed to cover the Intake Specialist.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Maintain an exclusive priority to ASD vacancies when recruiting potential residents within the community.

– Establish a consistent strategy and network to receive referrals and conduct outreach within the community.

– Fill in as needed to assist with Intakes and data entry including the waiting list.

– Maintain a written report on census data of agency contacts, referrals, given/received within the community.

– Track and update the housing waiting list.

– Track and report waiting list trends, gaps on a monthly basis to help identify needs.

– Market the ASD housing program regularly within the community.

– Track and report client successes of former waiting list clients.

– Support and follow high priority applicants to assist them with obtaining documents of eligibility that include, but are not limited to identification, homeless letters, and/or diagnosis.

– Participate in agency meetings regularly and reports updates and successes.

– Participate in community meetings that lead to referrals and housing placement of applicants.

– Solely responsible for promoting housing opportunities at ASD amongst the community.

– Participate in Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA) Continuum of Care (CoC) advocacy programs to promote housing opportunities within ASD, such as Tent City, Housing First, Coordinated Access prioritization.

– Assist applicants with community needs and/or resources as they transition to ASD.

– Maintain individual files for applicants until assigned and moved in to ASD Housing.

– Agrees to participate in any and all Quality Management activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of three (3) years of related human services experience is required. Must be able to fill in for the responsibility of the Intake Specialist as needed upon absence. Other qualifications include: familiarity with existing social services and community resources; a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS; organizational skills, and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to and willingness to be outside of the office periodically in order to access all community resources and clients not able to present at an intake location. Racial and cultural sensitivity is essential. A valid driver license is required.

WORK HOURS AND LOCATION:

Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary.

PAY: Starts at $43,000.00 per year
